In August we went out to the Sailorville Lake near Polk City. Its a popular lake in the Des Moines Area and lots of boaters head out there in the summer. Although we didn’t have a boat to go out on the water there are plenty of surrouding picnic/park areas to enjoy and be near the waterfront.
We went out on a fairly mild Friday evening and enjoyed the park. 2009 had been such a wonderful summer that the only hot days had been a very short stretch back in June.
